Well known in the San Antonio contemporary art circles for many years, attorney Marc Wiegand spearheads an effort that began earlier this year, to present periodic exhibitions of contemporary artists in the law offices of Stumpf Farrimond P.C., where he practices. A collector and patron of the arts, Marc is an enthusiastic promoter and supporter of a wide range of visual artists, and is a natural social connector, always trying to get people to interact and discover common interests.

The FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA exhibit at Stumpf Farrimond, Reality As Metaphor, is organized and curated by Marc Wiegand, and features a selection of works by Robert Ziebell, Ansen Seale and Rick Hunter.

Opening reception for Reality As Metaphor at Stumpf Farrimond P.C.

A funny thing happened on the way to the exhibit… As we were standing by the elevators in the Stumpf Farrimond foyer, the elevator doors opened. Nancy Fullerton (just back from her trip to Europe, and with full intent on catching up on all her FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA exhibit openings) and Marilyn Lanfear were inside the car. Nancy, being the trooper that she is, and being so excited to get back into our blog, immediately struck a pose and so did Marilyn. Well, the elevator was not interested in cooperating and by the time my camera was in place and ready to go, the elevator doors shut. A substantial amount of screaming was going on at this point, both inside the elevator and out. There followed what seemed to be an interminable time by closed-elevator-door-while-someone-is-inside standards, during which not a peep was heard. We thought that maybe Nancy and Marilyn had finally reached their own personal Twilight Zone.

We were all relieved, and laughing out loud, when about thirty seconds later the door opened and both Nancy and Marilyn were still with us, in this dimension, unencumbered by rapture. Still, troopers all the way, they both struck a pose again while Nancy wisely kept her finger pressed on the open-door button of the elevator.
