Xill Fessenden, featured artist, El Corazón de Mexico, COSAS, in Boerne.

Xill Fessenden has a long trajectory of image making. In the early 1970’s she studied art and photography at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore with Master photographers such as Minor White and Imogene Cunningham, as well as the critic, A.D. Coleman.

Xill has lived in Mexico since 1985, exhibiting in museums in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Morelia, Tepic and Colima. The body of work that she presents at COSAS reflects a deep, enduring relationship with the indigenous communities of Mexico. El Corazón De México is Xill’s first exhibition in Texas. It includes placing images in the open, using the natural foliage as an environmental context.
