Photography is power. In a world of images, a photographer has the potential to change perceptions, ask questions and to explore beauty. This opportunity is open to photographers of all backgrounds who speak exquisitely in the language of lenses and aperture. Our goal is simple – to find amazing photographic talents and expose them to the world in the most potent way possible. Rewards and benefits will be given to all who participate. One Grand Prize winner will be awarded a Manhattan gallery reception, international publicity and their choice of $10,000 cash or 1 year living rent free in a $1.2 million dollar apartment provided by The Edge in New York City.
Our panel of judges including Photographer Lauren Greenfield, New York Times Photo Editor Maura Foley, MoMA Curator Nora Lawrence and JPG Founders Derek Powazek & Heather Powazek Champ, will choose one photographer for the Grand Prize:
• $10,000 cash or 1-year FREE living at a $1.2 million apartment at The Edge in New York City
• A Manhattan gallery reception
• Airfare & shipping to and from New York City for the event
• International publicity
The public will also cast their vote and the highest rated portfolio will receive the People’s Choice Award:
• $2,000 in cash
• A Manhattan gallery reception
• Airfare & shipping to and from New York City for the event
All participants will receive:
An online portfolio searchable by gallerists, press and commercial buyers; A free digital subscription to JPG Magazine; $100 in discounts and credits from Zipcar.com; and discounts and freebies from our corporate sponsors.

Revista de Artes es una publicación digital dedicada desde Marzo de 2003 a promover el arte en todas sus expresiones, difundiendo la obra, vivencias y reflexiones de artistas célebres, desconocidos y noveles.
Desde el advenimiento de Internet, no viajar por el mundo ya no implica privarnos de conocer lugares. Ya sea de acuerdo a nuestras preferencias más definidas, o por simple curiosidad, tenemos la oportunidad de recorrer, virtualmente, cientos de lugares interesantísimos a los que de otro modo tal vez no lleguemos jamás. No es poco mérito para la tecnología, la rama de lo cultural –que pareciera menos prioritaria que la tecnología que salva vidas- también tiene cualidades trascendentes porque expandir horizontes, generar la motivación de indagar, estimular la creatividad, alimenta el alma.
Revista de Artes trata de brindar recorridos variados, recordando y difundiendo obra de artistas de todas las disciplinas, conocimiento –a través de teorizaciones diversas- y agradables paseos por lugares fuera de lo común.
