Rendon Photography & Fine Art

Throughout most of the fifteen years that FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA has been around, Al Rendon, as a photographic artist and as a gallery owner, has joined in our efforts to promote the art of photography in South Texas. In the last several years, joined at the hip with Liz Rendon (Al’s wife and general manager of everything Rendon related), and after purchasing and meticulously renovating a historic landmark building on the corner of South Alamo and South Presa, in Southtown, the Rendons have become an important, integral presence in San Antonio’s art scene. The FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA 2009 exhibit at Rendon Photography & Fine Art is A Carnival Of Messages, featuring series’ of images by Kat Brown, Ray Seabaugh and Bruce Shackelford.

El Sol Studios

Owned and operated by Ruth Guajardo and Larry Aguilar, and an iconic presence in Southtown for many years, El Sol Studios has been tenaciously keeping up its end of the bargain with San Antonio’s cultural community. Part idiosyncratic Latino curio shop, part art gallery, and part live music venue, El Sol Studios is a unique, must-stop destination for any and all First Friday revellers.

Joining in with FOTOSEPTEMBRE USA, El Sol Studios presents Sueños, an assortment of photographs by Roxanne Haynes.

Straight from California, Roxanne Haynes invites us into her world of memorable photographic experiences. Her fearless spirit and intense desire to connect with people through her lens have lead Roxanne to countless and diverse locations, documenting people, culture and emotion. Her reputation has given her a “backstage pass” with many musicians such as Santana, Manu Chao, The Rolling Stones, Eddie Vedder, Lila Downs, and many more.
